Tell us about yourself

I grew up in Northern Michigan and loved it here! I've had a passion for marketing since high school, making my college career at NCMC and Lake Superior State University laser-focused on all things business. For more than a decade, I have showcased my expertise in many areas including as an Americorps VISTA and professionally in banking, personal finance, sales, and non-profit organizations.

My true passion is helping others succeed in their goals to their full potential, whether that’s a person, program, or company.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is determining the price for your services to reflect the value you provide. Balance the market value. The highest amount clients will pay and the lowest amount you are willing to receive. It's a dance that you fine-tune.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Plan and collaborate. Find mentors who can provide advice and guidance.
  2. Don't be like everyone else. If you have a unique business idea, share it.
  3. Have a marketing plan of how to reach your ideal client, and stick to it.
