What's your business, and who are your customers?

Providing evidence-based mindful behavioral health programs for our US Veterans and active-duty service members and their families.

Tell us about yourself

I am an evidence-based trauma-conscious yoga therapist and teacher who was inspired in 2007 after working with an Army Ranger with five middle east deployments who left active-duty service and was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). I discovered while working with him the benefits gained through yoga and started Connected Warriors shortly after he passed away. I have donated my time to CW since 2010 and provide our services at no-cost to our recipients. We have a national agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs. We work with the Department of Defense to provide these services to active-duty members at over 50 VA facilities and military installations in 28 states and eight countries. My daily motivation is to give back to those who are in need.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Changing the dialogue with the Department of Defense and the Department of Veteran Affairs related to adjunct therapies and our military servicemembers - bringing yoga to the military.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Time management - everything is a priority.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Passion for the mission, willingness to give 1000% to achieve your vision, and self-awareness when you need support, help, and guidance.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Trust and believe in yourself.
