What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run an Art Therapy Group Practice.

Tell us about yourself

I wanted to support myself and create a group practice that feels like a family and co-op. I also wanted to be my own boss and make large-scale community art therapy mosaics while earning a solid living.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It is being able to invest in property and paying 13 people a month after being open for two years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Working 7 days a week and being the custodial staff and the bookkeeper are the hardest things for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Yes, it will be hard - it gets better.
  2. Hire people that you can grow with.
  3. Sleep 8 hours and get exercise every day.
  4. Don't get caught in the weeds.
  5. You have to spend money to make money.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I love marketing, being a leader, and blinging up the world.
