Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mark Halpern, Founder of Coherence Revolution, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Coherence Revolution, the book and online course, were created to teach people how to self-regulate and engage in the self-inquiry necessary to create an inspired, healthy and vibrant life. I have a deep understanding of the role that stress management plays in maintaining optimal health, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge, philosophy, and approach to health. This has allowed me to build a successful chiropractic practice and provide care for people who are seeking to align their minds, body, and spirit. I work with people of all ages. Whether a child, an exhausted parent, an expectant mother, an athlete, a lawyer, a contractor, or a retired teacher, I co-create a plan with my practice members that is practical, effective, and can ultimately be life-altering.

During the initial COVID lockdown, I made the conscious decision to turn what was becoming a disastrous situation into an opportunity to face my biggest fears. I literally reviewed every book, therapy, and method I had tried during my quest to reduce or eliminate the anxiety I had experienced for over 30 years. It was a powerful process to go through. I re-committed to the practices and tools that worked while also making a commitment to eliminate the circumstances, habits, or experiences that didn't serve me. Thus, The Coherence Revolution was born.

Tell us about yourself

I graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada, in 1996 and have been practicing for more than 25 years. I'm an author, lecturer, and certified HeartMath practitioner. I am also certified in the healing modalities of PSYCH-K and Ho'oponopono. In both my personal and professional life, I have been drawn to methods that promote optimal health and healing of the brain, body, and emotional state. My goal has always been to support the healing of others.

When I'm not working in my clinic, I use my time to explore a number of passions which range from continued personal self-growth and meditation to adventures such as hiking, skiing, scuba diving, golfing, and cycling. I especially love physical challenges which push me to my limits in a way that naturally reinforces the necessity to be "at the moment."

Much of my approach to life and living has been inspired by some of my favorite authors and mentors, including Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, and Bruce Cryer, as well as numerous Chiropractic coaches.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would have to say my biggest accomplishment is turning my personal challenges into a business that not only earns enough revenue to live an abundant life but also helps people create their own dream life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It is always a challenge to combine finance and health. I would like to help everyone attain optimal health. Unfortunately, sometimes people make decisions for their health based on their financial situation rather than their health needs.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

There are a few key things to focus on:

  1. What do you love to do? What inspires you?
  2. What are you good at? What skills do you have? What do you want to learn, so you have the skills?
  3. What need or solution can you provide for others?
