Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sally Reid, Founder of Coaching Your Truth, located in Berry Hill, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Quantum Alignment Coach, which is an energy-healing life coach. I work with women and men who feel like they have tried everything to solve their issues and are left frustrated with no results. I specialize in helping people who think they have hit a wall. People who have tried "everything" and it hasn't worked for them somehow know that there is a solution to their problem.

Often health challenges, such as autoimmune problems, business challenges, and behavioral or emotional issues, can be resolved with my methods.

Seeing people trying to fix symptoms instead of solving problems breaks my heart. People like to ask "why" all the time when the real question is usually "how" or "when." "When did you first notice things were not what you wanted?" is a great place to start. Always ask clients: What do you want and don't have? Or have and don't want? Starting there, I can energetically trace the root of the issue.

My life's work is to help people release blocks and past trauma quickly so they can effortlessly create the life they have always wanted.

Tell us about yourself

My life's vocation and passion were realized literally by accident. After two near-death experiences changed my life, It became abundantly clear that I have a unique gift and perspective and a wildly enhanced connection to the universe.

My first NDE turned on my psychic gifts. This showed up as premonitions and "nudges." I could intuitively protect myself from danger and instantly know how to solve issues in my then profession as a Realtor.

My second NDE, when I was 39, rocked my world. My life did a 360. I discovered my ability to channel a group of ascended masters known as The Council of Truth.

At first, I thought I had late onset Schizophrenia. "I'M HEARING VOICES IN MY HEAD!" A visit to a very kind physiatrist, who thankfully was very spiritual and wise, told me, "You are not Schizophrenic. You have a gift from God." So, I was psychic, not crazy. She eased my mind. Even so, I was afraid to let people know I could do what I did.

My new ability changed my life path abruptly. It was just too weird to hear voices telling me how to sell houses! How dare I have this gift and not use it to help people to better their lives? Yet I was still so afraid of being shamed by the southern church people. Facing my fear, I began slowly to build a life coaching practice in 2010. I was hesitant, self-conscious, and afraid to own my gifts.

Twelve years later, after working with people individually and seeing incredible, heartwarming transformations, I am confident in what I offer to my clients and can get results very quickly.

After helping 1000s of people, I noticed that there is a system, a method that is a gateway that empowers people to connect and learn about themselves. Now my focus is to create an online learning portal so that many more people can be supported, healed, and empowered to be exactly who they know they are.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Most people would talk about the great business they have built and the tremendous financial abundance they have created with their company. Not me. I say I learned about myself, my fears, and my strengths.

Everyone who begins this journey thinks they are going on a simple business-building journey. Offer a product or service and get paid. I would beg to differ.

The real accomplishment is not building the business but becoming someone who CAN build a successful and growing business without losing their minds or all their money. That is a real accomplishment.

In my decade-plus journey, I repeatedly overcame my fears and doubts, up-leveling my mindset. I bravely went forward even though I wasn't sure. My biggest accomplishment is becoming the person who moves from an anxious, fear-based, controlling perspective to a trusting and growth mindset.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I find that with all business owners, but especially solopreneurs, the most significant issue is self-doubt and second-guessing yourself at the beginning. This causes you to procrastinate, change your mind, retreat, or quit.

I would say that if you get out of your head and trust your passion and original idea, you will succeed.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire an assistant or VA before you think you are ready. Be sure you clearly know what you want them to do and how to do it. Free programs like Loom help with this.
  2. Ask the people in your life to trust you, or at the very least, shut up with doubts and fears. Fighting yourself PLUS fighting them is not a recipe for success.
  3. Celebrate the wins!! Too often, people get so goal-oriented that they fail to see the small victories along the journey. They are, "good, now get back to work." I used to be this way. Now I stop and feel celebration and joy for every win, even the smallest ones. It helps to refuel the fire.
