What's your business, and who are your customers?

As an ICF Master Certified Coach, I focus on Leadership and Executive Coaching with corporate executives, business owners, and high-potential employees. In addition to coaching, I provide individual and collective leadership assessments, workshops, and Executive and Board Retreats.

Tell us about yourself

I was introduced to coaching in 1991. For the first 15 years, I coached part-time while being an Executive in a Fortune 100 firm. After stepping away from my corporate career to care for my grandmother, who was in her mid 90's and not enjoying my international travel schedule, I got present with the difference between a fulfilling career and a challenging career. After my grandmother passed away, I knew I needed to do something where I made a difference in people's lives on a daily basis, as I had for my grandmother. That was the moment when I decided to coach full-time. I've been doing so for 15 years, and that's what motivates me daily: knowing I see the things that others don't see and say the things that others wouldn't dare to say. Being willing to practice straight communication and ask powerful questions to create new awarenesses for my clients is what makes the coaching transformational.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm honored to have achieved the level of Master Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation, as well as numerous coaching awards. The most satisfying accomplishment is partnering with my clients to unleash the leaders they were meant to be.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing that not everyone is coachable or willing to do the work to transform their professional and personal lives.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you're creating a business that will be fulfilling and aligned with your core values.
  2. Continue to develop yourself, and don't assume your way is the best way or that what got you here will take you where you need to be.
  3. Surround yourself with people who will speak truth to power, whether that is a professional coach or your employees.
