What's your business, and who are your customers?
I believe that everyone should have their ideas heard, but so often, it's not what you say that matters but how you say it. After over a decade in the world of tech, I decided to create my own presentation skills and career coaching practice to level the playing field in the board room. I love helping people find what makes them unique and how to share their ideas in a compelling way, all while feeling great in the workplace. In addition to individual coaching, I love creating fun, impactful, and interactive team learning sessions through my workshops.
Tell us about yourself
Before building a career as an instructional designer and facilitator, I trained to be an actor. Both the arts and education allow me to pursue my goal of fostering intercommunication, mutual understanding, and respect by telling people's stories and letting them be recognized, heard, understood, and appreciated. My focus is on empowerment, based on the belief that people of all skill levels can find success – no matter what their role or level of tech-savvy might be.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a suite of 10 workshops that have been picked up by both small businesses and large global organizations.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Boundaries! It's so easy to say 'yes' to everything that comes your way. This is a recipe for burnout, so the biggest challenge I continue working through is giving myself space, rest, and time for creativity.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know who you want to serve and why - be as specific as possible!
- Know your non-negotiables - these can be rates, types of clients, or types of projects.
- Schedule your rest first before anything else. Build your schedule around recharging.

Follow what makes you happy, and the rest will follow. The world needs you and the special magic you have.
