Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in E-commerce but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cedric Lipsey, founder and CEO of Clusivi, a software company that is transforming how high-ticket services are transacted.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Clusivi is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that facilitates planned purchasing for high-ticket services (examples: cosmetic procedures, wedding planning, home improvements, etc.). We’re offering a fiscally-responsible and financially-savvy way to pay for big purchases you know you’ll want and/or need. My company’s mission is to create equity and inclusion by empowering consumers with increased access to services that they may have felt were out of their reach, as well as enabling small businesses to remove price as an obstacle for their potential customers, clients, and patients.

Tell us about yourself

Though I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, I am originally from a tiny town just outside of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Growing up on a fairly large farm, hard work was simply par for the course. However, I quickly learned that hard work didn’t always equate to having enough to make ends meet. While excuses and complaining were never really allowed, I also learned that the options most Americans had to assist them with tight budgets (i.e., credit or loans) weren’t so equally accessible to everyone and were almost always highly predatory to some.

As an adult, I have experienced abundance as well as some very lean times. It is because of my combined experiences that I developed a very strong passion for all who struggle to make ends meet as well as for those who simply desire a better, more savvy way to pay for services that they either need or want. After doing exhaustive research, it was very clear to me that the majority of people needing or wanting a service that cost more than, say, $1,500 were the people who couldn’t so easily reach for cash or a credit card, especially without dramatically impacting their budget. This led me to develop an income- and schedule-friendly solution that would cultivate a win-win relationship between the buyers and sellers of high-ticket services.

Knowing where I came from, what I’ve gone through, and how I want to make an impact in my community, as well as the mark I want to leave on the world, provides me with the motivation to always push forward and to let nothing hold me back!
