Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Corinne Zacharyas, founder of Clinique Resileste, located in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an occupational psychologist, but I offer a very different service from traditional psychologists. I help people develop new, more solid resilience resources and a source of well-being. My major specialty is trauma. My unique working method allows people to get rid of heaviness and traumatic anchorages very quickly and solidly. It only takes a few sessions in my clinic.

Tell us about yourself

My life collapsed at the age of 30 when I suffered a deep burnout. I had to rethink my life and went back to school. Thanks to my life experience, I have developed a way to check people's resilience processes in real-time. My model allows people to see where their strengths are, their limitations, and why they react in one way rather than another.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have several great accomplishments of which I can be proud. I built my clinic, created an extremely effective questionnaire, and developed a liberating working method for people struggling with trauma, panic attacks, bereavement, etc. And my last big accomplishment is writing a book about my resilience model.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The most difficult thing was to keep hope by opening my clinic during the extremely demanding first years of operation and during which I worked enormously to make myself known.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Starting and sustaining a business is difficult.
It is important to give yourself time. A business takes about five years to be profitable.
Time is not enough. You also have to work very hard on advertising without losing your weak finances.
To support these first two points, you have to nurture your morale and your perseverance in order to pursue what you believe in beyond what many people could say against it.

Achieving your dream is extremely satisfying.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I invite you to discover my model and my book, which allow anyone to boost their resilience even outside of the consultation.
