Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Marie Gautron, Founder of Click'n'Connect, located in Strasbourg, Alsace, France.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help entrepreneurs, especially in wellness, to develop their online visibility by creating a website that represents them and making it easy for them to manage it themselves. Depending on their desires and needs, I offer a website or dedicated training to make it themselves.
I also coach entrepreneurs who want to organize and improve their productivity thanks to the tool Notion.so, which has free and premium templates, and one-on-one coaching! Finally, I've got a side-project where I help people with their well-being, promoting wellness aloe vera products.
Tell us about yourself
I've always been a bit of a geek, I love helping people, and I dream of a world where everybody takes care of themselves. Adding it all up, I chose to help wellness entrepreneurs (who help people take care of themselves!) by doing what I know and love, making websites, helping them get organized, and talking about aloe vera!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think I'm proud of the way I created my web business. I was coming out of burnout with my previous job, and I knew almost nothing about creating websites and Notion. But with time and motivation, I learned what I needed and started this business from scratch. And also, my biggest reward is when my customers tell me that their websites are just like themselves or their Notion workspace is really organized like their own brains!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I think the biggest challenge, for me anyway, is to manage my impostor syndrome. I often think I'm not good enough, even if none of my customers said anything like this to me. It becomes a struggle to continue when everything is not exactly like I imagined. And the second thing I would say is difficult is actually exactly what I'm doing right now: talking about me and my services, as I'm really not enjoying prospecting!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't ask yourself 1 billion questions before you start. As one of my entrepreneur friends often says: Done is better than perfect!
- Believe in yourself. And if it's difficult, ask the people around you why you are the right person to do what you do. It may help you a lot to see the good in you through other people's eyes.
- If you don't know what you want to do, just try something! Sometimes, the good thing will just pop when it's time, even if you don't expect it. But nothing will knock on your door if you're not doing anything!
