What's your business, and who are your customers?

Clear Within is a skincare supplement company that aims to help people target the root cause of their acne without the need for harsh drugs or chemicals. Our mission is to provide natural solutions to individuals who are seeking safer ways of achieving clear, healthy skin without enduring side effects. Our target demographic is anyone from teenagers to adults.

Tell us about yourself

I started Clear Within after struggling with adult acne. Right after graduating college, I was caught up so much in the hustle & bustle of work that I experienced a lot of stress just trying to make a living and survive. As a result, I lacked sleep, was consistently anxious, and began to reap the consequences as my skin broke out with horrible cystic acne.

Through a series of trial and error amongst all the traditional acne treatments prescribed by my dermatologist (including a horrible experience with Accutane), I was forced to start over from square one and opted for a holistic approach.

The holistic approach (guided by holistic doctors) totally opened up my eyes to natural remedies for skin care and radically transformed my skin. There were no affordable or reliable products in the market that combined all the vitamins I took at the proper dosages, so I took the matter into my own hands to create Clear Within with two of my best friends.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Through the release of this product, we've been able to successfully help thousands of people around the world clear their acne and live more confident lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Constantly striving for "perfection" when in reality, we learn things through failure. For example, trying to figure out how to best market the product, get it in people's hands, and spread information about it took years of trial & error. There's no precise blueprint for a company's success, and we just learned things by trying them and not being afraid to fail.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a team who shares the same mission and passion as you.
  2. Aim to create an impact and solve a problem instead of immediately chasing money. Building a brand will yield far longer-term results than chasing a quick dollar.
  3. Take advantage of social media and tell a story about your business through those outlets, from TikTok to IG Reels to YouTube Shorts. You should be everywhere.
