Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chantelle Andercastle, Founder of Clear Quartz Creative, located in Winnipeg, MB, CA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Most entrepreneurs let their best ideas live in their notebooks - not my clients! I help them get clarity on which ideas are most aligned, and I teach them the business skills they need to make their ideas real, so they can feel the true satisfaction and accomplishment of being a fully capable business owner. As a business strategist and designer, I work with solopreneurs in their first five years of business. My clients tend to be helpers and healers in wellness and lifestyle businesses - think naturopathic doctors, lactation consultants, therapists, and yoga instructors. They are very intentional in their chosen niche and want to be just as intentional in the business side of things. That's where I come in!

Tell us about yourself

Beginning my business journey as a yoga teacher taught me the importance of having an intentional business strategy and a meaningful website because memorable is marketable! Since 2018, I've taught service providers how to make conscious, aligned decisions and put intention behind everything they do in business. My zone of genius is in combining business strategy with self-development!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Over the last five years, I've launched over 100 websites for service providers, and I've impacted hundreds of students through my Aligned Action podcast and online offerings. I'm proud of the impact I've helped my students create in their own businesses so that they can reach more aligned clients of their own.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

With inspiration (and competition) everywhere, it can be hard to follow your own inner voice and trust your own inner knowing instead of following what others are doing or what the experts are telling you to do. I've learned that the more I know, like, and trust myself, the more potential clients know, like, trust me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take as much time to implement as you do to learn. Although it's tempting to hop into the next group program, sign up for the newest course, or register for yet another certification - pause. Ensure you've implemented everything from each learning experience before moving on to the next.
  2. Rather than try to take advice from everyone, choose a core group of business mentors. Start by taking in their content, and when you're ready, sign up for 1:1 mentorship with them. You'll have more clarity when there's less competition for your attention.
  3. There will be days when you feel like you're struggling to attract clients. When you're running in circles trying different things and not getting the results you'd like and when you feel like marketing is just not your forte. When this happens, choose one area of your business (testimonials, emails, your main service), infuse your highest values into that one area of business, and get as intentional as possible. One area at a time, and before you know it, your whole business will feel "on purpose."

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My newest project combines all three of the ideas in my top tips above. I'll soon be launching Facet Magazine, a handheld learning experience designed for entrepreneurs to get inspired, grow their skills, and shine one facet of their business at a time, month after month. Hear about it on the Aligned Action Podcast first, and get your first issue in Fall 2022!
