Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Christine Campbell Rapin, CEO of CLEAR Acceleration Inc., located in Cochrane, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business success coach and mentor who has helped over 400 businesses around the world to create impact and income by serving clients they love to work with. It begins with building an audience, focusing on business fundamentals, and taking consistent action on the non-negotiables that lead to predictable and profitable growth.

My clients are service-based businesses that are struggling to consistently attract high-quality clients that are eager to pay for their services and feel lost and uncertain about how to create a thriving business instead of having an expensive hobby.

Tell us about yourself

I knew from a young age that I would be an entrepreneur; however, I never imagined the 3 businesses I have now. When I started my first business over 6 years ago, it was a side hustle. I committed to working it 1 hour a day, and as a result, revenues doubled every year. It was through this first business that other business owners started to notice that my efforts were leading to consistent and profitable results, whereas they were exhausted and had more of an expensive hobby than a viable business. I started to have people ask me to mentor and coach them on business fundamentals so that they could create the same success for themselves, which eventually led me to founding another business, CLEAR Acceleration Inc. Business is simple (note I didn't say effortless) when you know what things to focus on and surround yourself with a community of peers that both challenge you and support you.

Independent businesses are vital to our families, communities, and global economies. I'm on a mission to help more of them succeed because it is absolutely heartbreaking watching people give up on their dreams because they don't know how to create a viable business. I have the skills to help others, and it is such a privilege to ride shotgun, helping people chase their dream and make a positive impact.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping over 400 businesses in 5 countries develop the skills and vision to create success on their own terms.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Recognizing that many people want to be business owners but are simply not prepared to put in the effort and take the necessary steps to build a thriving business. You cannot help those who are not prepared to invest in their dreams; put down their excuses and effort into making them a reality.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand that your business will be built on growth fueled by strangers. You need an intentional and consistent strategy to meet more people in more ways and more often to create consistent client growth.
  2. You do not need to take the journey by yourself or figure everything out on your own. The best business hack out there is leveraging someone else's expertise and experience, so take the shortcut and be prepared to invest in support.
  3. No one is going to build your business for you. You must find the courage to move past convenience, or you will never take the uncomfortable actions to grow your business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

No one decides to become an entrepreneur with all the skills and mindset needed to succeed. Be prepared to grow to become the person you need (and your clients need) along the journey. Growth is a never-ending pursuit.
