What's your business, and who are your customers?

Classic Suds is an online boutique shop specializing in handmade dessert-themed, faux food and novelty soaps. Our products appeal to women, men, and children who are looking for unique, quality bath products.

Tell us about yourself

I am a retired Surgical Registered Nurse. My soap-making came about because of my training in chemistry, quality control, and customer service.
When my three daughters were young, I taught myself cake decorating in order to fulfill their desires for that super cake! These icing techniques have carried over to my soap-making.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is knowing that I have produced a quality, unique product at an affordable price and the smiles and wonderful feedback I get from my customers.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-discipline.
Drawing the line between business and personal time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Advertise, advertise and promote your business!
  2. Excellent Customer Service is a must!
  3. Set small goals, and celebrate your successes!
