What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is called Circleview, and our customers are manufacturing companies looking to streamline communication, turbocharge their Lean program, and empower employees to make a meaningful difference to the bottom line.
Tell us about yourself
I helped launch Circleview after 10+ years of seeing common problems reoccur in manufacturing. Front-line operators often don't understand how they contribute to company goals and feel lost and powerless in their position. Additionally, factories will often introduce Lean concepts and fail to follow through, eroding trust and slowing progress.
Businesses should be making the best use possible of their front-line workers, who are often their best assets. This is what motivates me - keeping manufacturing jobs desirable and fulfilling. Circleview aims to help companies do this by digitizing their processes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As small as it may sound, I will answer by gaining our first customer. This was a huge step in confirming the value of our product and helped push us along to continue!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There's so much to learn, and it can be overwhelming. It's difficult to know exactly what the best tasks are to spend your time on because there are so many directions you can go.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get help! There are so many people who can help advise you on what to do and what NOT to do.
- Things typically don't happen overnight. Almost everyone goes through impostor syndrome at some point. Keep pushing.
- Always remember your "why." Why did you create this business? Stay true to that.
