What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Squarespace expert. I build custom websites, sell premium templates to help DIYers launch fast, and everything in between. My tagline is "websites made easy," and I strive to make the process both easy and fun!

Tell us about yourself

I fell in love with web design and, in 2018, decided to pursue building a full-time business of my own. It's an honor to partner with other small businesses and entrepreneurs and be a small part of their stories.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think it's typical to think in terms of numbers here (clients or revenue), but my biggest accomplishment has been establishing healthy boundaries so that I can be at my best for my clients and customers and making sure I maintain a happy work/life balance.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Wearing all the hats. Some days I'm a bookkeeper. Some days, I'm trying to figure out contracts, and some days I'm doing marketing. As a solopreneur, I love learning about all these different areas of business, but it's sometimes a challenge to do it all.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Lean into the fun. I think sometimes we have a business idea that we try to force because we are told it would be profitable. But if it doesn't light you up and you don't enjoy the work, pivot and look for what is the most fun for YOU. Work is still work, but it can be rewarding and fulfilling.
  2. Start growing your email list TODAY. These are people that want to hear from you and might be interested in working with you. Don't put this off.
  3. Find community. This could be anything from joining an entrepreneur group to grabbing coffee at your coworking space with other solopreneurs. Finding others who understand your journey is key.
