Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in mental wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chris Graham, a Registered Psychologist, based in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I work as a Registered Psychologist in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, offering counselling and assessment services. I work with people who want to know themselves better, are struggling and in need of support, and who want to live the fulfilling lives that they deserve.

Tell us about yourself

I believe in the value and meaning of connection and that relationships heal. I take a great deal of satisfaction in offering my best to those I work with and supporting them in achieving their goals. I love working as a psychologist and see it as a privilege to be able to do the work I do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I've experienced a huge sense of accomplishment in coming into private practice. It's been very satisfying to be able to offer the services I believe in and see how these can benefit folks, and know that folks are finding value in these services.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I don't think I'd really describe any of it as hard! I've really enjoyed developing my private practice. I do acknowledge that, at times, this can leave me feeling a bit spread thin or, moreover, developing skills I never thought I'd be developing - like SEO and web presence. But there's been a great deal of satisfaction in finding success in the midst!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I think one of my key takeaways is to have a strong and solid goal to work backward from. This gives you the ability to work towards achieving this goal with a sense of conviction and can help give you some metrics to help you know if you're on track. And, I think the more concrete, achievable, and realistic that goal, the better.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you're interested in connecting to learn if I may be a source of support for you, please feel free to book a free meet & greet to have a casual conversation and see if I may be a fit for your current needs.
