Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in clothing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Anthony Moultry, Owner of Chicer Collegiate, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The name of my business is Chicer Collegiate. We provide better apparel for HBCUs and other fine institutions. Our customer base consists of HBCU alumni, HBCU students and parents.

Tell us about yourself

I believe that HBCUs are prestigious institutions; our apparel should reflect that. I am an artist, and I love to create. This yearning to create inspires me every day to produce new items.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

When I started my HBCU apparel line, I only had one license with my alma mater, Morehouse College. Today my company holds licenses with 18 colleges and universities.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Discipline, discipline, discipline. My work day is 24 hours a day versus a typical 9-5.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I advise anyone starting a business to have faith. It will not happen overnight, and there will be hurdles and roadblocks, both physical and mental. Don't give up. Keep moving, one day at a time!
