What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a cottage baker that specifically makes French macarons. I made it a goal for myself to learn how to make macarons into cute artwork! It is solely celebrating customers that make up my customer base. I love being able to be a part of everyone’s parties!
Tell us about yourself
I’ve always been fascinated by art. Throughout my life, I’ve looked for different ways to express my art type; nothing felt right until I started making macarons. At the beginning of quarantine, I started baking various bakes and heard macarons were difficult to figure out. I had time, so I utilized it to better this craft.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I’ve been able to make macarons for various celebrities, and I’ve had big orders and orders that have humbled me in ways I could never imagine. My greatest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to make something that I can give back to my community. People in my life, from family members to baristas at the coffee shop I go to, have been given some of my macarons to try.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing has been being able to say “no” I hate turning down orders, but I’ve had to realize I’m only one person, and I can’t do it all.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Three tips I’d give to someone starting a business would be to produce something you’re proud of, connect with local businesses in the same field/another small business, and get yourself out there. There are tons of little pop-ups happening all over the valley that are easy to be a part of!
