What's your business, and who are your customers?
I offer Reiki, intuitive guidance, sound healing, meditations, and spiritual and somatic coaching for women who desire a transformation in their lives. Typically, my client is beginning to connect to a general sense of unease with the status quo and/or is already on a spiritual journey and looking for someone to help guide them into a new version of themselves.
Tell us about yourself
In 2010, I started my own spiritual journey to heal trauma from my earlier years, and that path was deeply transformational. I explored a lot of healing modalities, read a lot of books, and generally did the best I could to heal on my own. During the process, I often wished that there was someone with whom I could talk about what I was going through because it often felt like I was fumbling in the dark or going crazy. I figured it out eventually, but it ignited my interest to be that guide for others. My Reiki attunements were so powerful that I knew Reiki needed to be a part of my offerings, and my business has grown from there.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I started my business in my home and now have the clientele and demand to be able to move into a professional office. I am in the process of finalizing that, and it feels like a big success.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It is hard to "turn off." I answer text messages at all hours and find it difficult sometimes not to have my work time leak into my personal time. And remember to give me adequate days off!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just get started. Move into the fear and start anyway, even if you aren't sure how successful it will be, even if you aren't sure if you are ready. It will come together. The Universe needs to see you make the first step, and then it will rush in and support you.
- The right people will find you through the Law of Attraction. You don't have to bang your head against the wall to post on social media a certain number of times. Just keep your energy and intention clear, and it will attract your tribe.
- Know who you are and why you are in it, and keep checking in if that still aligns. If not, adjust accordingly.
