What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Chef Tays Creations. My customers are family, friends, and returning customers whom I have the opportunity to meet during private events and competitions.
Tell us about yourself
I started having a passion for cooking at a young age with my family. I started my own business to broaden my knowledge and exposure to modern-day cooking and cuisine. The biggest thing that motivates me every day is the love and reaction from my customers. Also, having the ability to put a smile on their face. Food is another way to heal the soul!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having the recognition of being in the Charlotte Observer as one of the "Top 10 Black Chefs" in Charlotte. Staring my own cookbook, being placed in second place for Judges Choice in Dessert Wars Competition. Then to get the opportunity to brand out to DoorDash.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being consistent and constantly providing amazing products that can knock your socks off.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, be organized, self-motivated, and creative. Second, do not be scared to fail and learn from it. Third, stay true to your brand and the product you put out.

Scared money don't make no money. Always remember to be safe.
