What's your business, and who are your customers?
Primarily I'm a private chef (Monday-Friday), and I cater events on the weekend. While I am consistently accepting new clients, a lot of my current business is a repeat clientele.
Tell us about yourself
I waited tables in college, and I fell in love with the food, and I saw longevity through the service aspect of it. I got the chance to start cooking professionally after I earned my bachelor's. I motivate myself. I have to look in the mirror daily and be with myself 24/7. I want to be a healthy example for my children and anyone who may need inspiration. My path hasn't been easy, but through a lot of hard work and dedication to excellence, I have seen just a bit of the success I desire.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to be my authentic self. I am able to unapologetically be a mom, wife, artist, and businesswoman. It's a privilege for me to express my creativity and be able to help others.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, it's trying to balance it all. It's a lot sometimes running a household of 7, being there for my loved ones, meeting deadlines, and trying to produce each time. It's challenging, but it's been well worth it so far. Because Chef Shobe is a service-based business, I feel rejuvenated producing for my customers, and my kids are seeing how my hard work is opening new doors.
