Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lindsay Hammond & Lisa Jones, co-founders of The Relationship Coaches, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We dream of a world where relationships are: - a place where people can show up and be seen, heard, and understood by asking for what they need - a place where people can access, share, and explore their innermost dreams and deepest desires while feeling safe, secure and free of judgment, - a place where those people in the relationship decide how to be and what to do - NOT societal norms, religious beliefs, family expectations, etc.

That is our dream, but it is also what we KNOW is possible. We are Certified, Professional Co-Active Coaches, and we are changing the world of relationships, one tough conversation at a time!!

We believe that everyone deserves to be in a loving and connected relationship. And we know that quality relationships are the key to lasting happiness and a fulfilled life. We are on a mission of empowering others to achieve that life and happiness. We coach both individuals and couples, focusing on their relationship with themselves as the foundation and their relationships with their partner and other key people in their lives.

Tell us about yourself

We believe that everyone deserves to be in a loving and connected relationship.

Life is too short to stay stuck in a miserable relationship (or even a mediocre one), whether that relationship is the one you have with yourself or someone else. We have repeatedly seen that when relationships are in struggle, your life is in turmoil. We truly care, and we do what we do to help people transform their lives through their relationships.

Individuals and couples come to us because they are feeling disconnected and lonely in their relationship. They are often asking themselves:- Am I settling, or is this as good as it gets?- I’m so sick of fighting. How did I end up here?- I feel like we’re just going through the motions; we’re so disconnected. They walk away with a clear understanding of what their wants & needs are and a newfound ability to communicate those needs to their partner in a way that they can actually hear them.

We have both felt the pain of not feeling seen and heard and have seen how our work can transform our own lives and our clients' lives, which is what motivates us to keep showing up!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment has been every client testimonial or google review we receive. We never take them lightly, and each and every time someone is brave enough to share, we feel so accomplished and fulfilled.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is really just trying to do it all. As an entrepreneur or small business owner, it is so easy to get wrapped up in only working in your business instead of working on your business. But when you provide a service that you are passionate about it can also be just as easy to get wrapped up in working on the business rather than focussing on the coaching passion that led you to start the business in the first place!! It is definitely a balance that we continue to strive toward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Figure out what drives you, what you are passionate about, and what you LOVE doing most, and focus on those aspects of the business. Hire out all of the rest to someone with a passion for all the things you don't want to do.
  2. Hire a coach. Coaches offer an objective view, another perspective, and an ability to ask the questions you need to be asked. You can collapse time and avoid so much stress when you work with someone who is on your side and has the skills to challenge you and move you forward.
  3. Remember to constantly begin again, keep trying, recommit daily. You will be faced with challenges as well as with challenging people, and you might fail, but you are the author of your own story, and you always have the ability to begin again.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We believe everyone should have an opportunity to work with a coach and experience what coaching can do for them. If anyone is wondering what coaching is about or whether it is right for them, we would love to connect at no cost. Book a call with us! https://www.relationshipsreverything.com/lets-talk
