Youth Leadership Development Program's constituents are K–12 students.

Tell us about yourself

Communication skills are a much-needed soft skill in this technologically driven world. For example, when Subkit approached me for an interview, I assumed that someone would converse with me. Instead, I am completing a form.

So encouraging young children to communicate, learn interpersonal behaviors, and enhance social-emotional interactions motivates me daily to have purposeful and deeper connections.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Sustainability of the mission.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It is always a challenge to be continuously sustainable and engage the audience of different demographics. There is no downtime. In this age of instant gratification and information overload, customers are always looking for more excitement every day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Build a circle of trust - that will keep your team.
  2. Get to know your customer's needs - don't build a product based on your needs.
  3. Calculate risk management to know how and when to pivot/ adjust the goals.
