Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Brad Cooper, CEO of Catalyst Coaching 360, located in Fort Collins, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Catalyst Coaching 360 is in our 17th year of providing best-in-class, personalized, and nationally board-certified health and wellness coaching for employees nationwide. Our partners include employers, EAP organizations, and wellness service providers. Here's a brief video we released as we launched our 17th year.

Tell us about yourself

The word CATALYST isn't simply part of our name, it's who we are! A Catalyst is something that helps create positive change BUT isn't depleted in the process. That's us - our amazing team of coaches is made up of individuals who care deeply for others and help their clients move toward #BetterThanYesterday without burning themselves out in the process. We're fortunate to have the opportunity to work with amazing team members, making a difference in a world in need.

Personally, I love being a husband to the greatest woman in the world (Suzanna), dad to 3 amazing adult kids and their spouses, and now a grandpa! I also enjoy endurance sports (11x Ironman, including 4x at World Championship, winner of 2-person Race Across America Cycling race, etc.), have 4 college degrees (BS/MS/MBA/PhD), and cheering on our CSU Rams here in Ft. Collins, CO. Also host of the Catalyst 360: Health, Wellness & Performance podcast, nearing 300 episodes over the past 5 years.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

There isn't one single "accomplishment" that bubbles to the top. Instead, I'm grateful to be doing what I'm doing with the people on our team and our wonderful partners over the years.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Zooming out. It's easy to get pulled down into the stress or struggles of the moment, but it's more valuable to zoom out and tune into all the progress and positive developments that have occurred over the years.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Clarify your personal vision for life before your business vision.
  2. Choose partners very carefully.
  3. Integrate the Catalyst Cornerstones (Move/Fuel/Rest/Connect) consistently into your schedule.
