Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in finance but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Gianni Oliva, Founder, and CEO of Cashflow Investing Inc., located in Lake Worth, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Cashflow Investing is a fully online educational platform and community teaching young adults 20-30 years of age who are in school, the workforce, or even both how to get started setting up their financial future while increasing income and lowering debt with the power of investing and trading into trillion-dollar markets.

Tell us about yourself

I first started this company with the intention of bringing pure, non-cut, and streamlined education to the people in the world who aspire for more success in life but lack the direction on where to go. The reason is that when I was younger and uninformed about money-making tactics, I got scammed out of nearly $5,000, and it set me into a depressive episode where I didn't feel confident in myself anymore. I decided, instead of sulking, to get to work and learn. On that day, I made a decision to start helping people like me avoid getting into traps or scams the same way I did and instead empower them with the information, resources & community that would set them free and change/improve their situation! My daily motivation truly is my mother and father. As young adults, they moved here from Guatemala and did their best to pursue the American dream & become successful by doing what they knew how to do; my mission is to finish what they started and establish generational wealth in not only my family but the families of others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Instead of talking about the high profits, we've been able to make a debt-free and privately owned startup with zero help or resources or personally mentoring over 200 students across the country. I believe that the results of our students are what matters most. I have been blessed to create success stories in impoverished communities where education is little to none, university students who are lost or confused about the path they're on and even adults entering their golden years who realized that their retirement plan wasn't planned well at all. I have personally spoken Infront of hundreds of people and witnessed the transformation happen in my students who knew nothing but illegal activities or working a dead-end job... turn into motivated and excited individuals who are building a community around wealth, positive reinforcement, and success. I've witnessed firsthand people step into a new reality of what's possible with life and not only that. I've helped them make real money online in this digital area and even helped many of our students leave their 9-5 and become full-time entrepreneurs who are working towards creating their dream life. I'm blessed to be in the position that I am in, and so are our students.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As I'm sure many other entrepreneurs would agree with me on this; I believe THE hardest thing to overcome as a business owner is the human mind. With all of the spoken & unspoken insults, doubts, and stress that come with the path of entrepreneurship, I believe that there isn't enough talk about the mental health that gets damaged when going into business for yourself. Family and friends look at you like you're crazy and/or stop talking to you. Sacrificing outings or activities to stay home and embrace the grind of growing. The lack of mentorship or resources or even help in general. The lack of support for starting a business but the hundreds of applause for enrolling in school for $50,000 in debt. The list goes on; all of these things plant seeds of doubt or seeds or encouragement in the entrepreneur's mind, and without working daily on improving and strengthening the durability of the mind, most startups fall faster than they were built. Business requires an extreme amount of faith and effort not only in the skillsets required for success but, more importantly, the mindset to stay through the storm.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Three universal tips for aspiring or new business owners:

  1. No matter how much you fail, never become anxious or worried; instead, become excited! This prevents fear of the unknown from creeping in - remember that FEAR stands for False Evidence Appearing Real, and FAIL stands for First Attempt In Learning!
  2. Operate on a schedule to the best of your ability! There's never consistency as a startup but do your best to have tasks and objectives that must be completed by a specific time point.
  3. Be patient in the process, but EAGER in the execution. You must remain steadfast in your faith in your vision and relentless with your work ethic; this will separate you from almost all other business owners in your field.
