Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in skincare but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Francine Lombrozo, Owner of Cascadia Skincare, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our family’s skincare apothecary has been providing holistic skincare remedies and soaps in North America and beyond for more than three decades. Cascadia Skincare was birthed from the need for a skincare brand that prioritizes people and the planet first.

Our success has never been defined by monetary gain but instead by the inner wealth of our people and our planet. Our customers share one belief that what we choose to apply on your skin is one very important element of living holistically. Considering how the product was made? With what ingredients? Intentions? And what footprints is it leaving on our earth?

Tell us about yourself

Cascadia Skincare is now in its second generation of the family, and there has always been an innate passion for our mother earth. All that we need is truly provided for us. Utilizing these simple yet profoundly complex botanicals to create skincare remedies is what we have been doing as a collective for centuries, and so we continue onwards to be keepers of this tradition.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Through all the ebbs and flows, we are still here, providing what our customers have cherished for more than three decades. It's easy to start a new business, but to be thriving even after the inevitable rough patches requires so much passion.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

All day every day, thinking about your business, aka never shutting off, haha.
Truthfully, somedays you don't want to show up, but that consistency sure is a muscle that has to be exercised again and again when being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start before you're ready!
  2. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Being an entrepreneur may look and seem appealing when you are working for someone, but it's hard. The pros and cons can be equal to working for someone, but what's the game changer? How passionate are you about your WHY?
  3. You must know your WHY?
