Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in interior design but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Carrie Leskowitz, an Interior Designer & a Certified Life Coach at Carrie Leskowitz Interiors, located in Fort Washington, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have been an interior designer for over 20 years who became a life coach and then wrote a book marrying my philosophy of "home as self." Connecting mind, body, spirit, and living space.

Tell us about yourself

I am a creative, curious person by nature. I pivoted from fashion to interior design because I was passionate about design, and now having conversations based on authenticity in design.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Writing a book.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Feeling like you have to always be in "doing" mode. Sometimes the hardest but most important thing to do is be in "releasing" mode.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You are your brand, and everything should be a reflection of that.
  2. Give it 110%.
  3. Understand your strengths, and delegate the rest.
