Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Caroline Zwickson, Founder of Caroline Zwickson Coaching, located in Fairfield, CT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an Integrative Coach and Joy Mentor with a background in Counseling Psychology. I help people wake up their joy and create lives they can actually thrive in. I work privately with individuals, have an online course called Easy Joy, and am also the host of the Joy Class podcast.

Tell us about yourself

I have always loved helping people and as an innate optimistic and intuitive, I have always had the ability to see people in their brightest expression and as who they really are underneath the layers of stress, overwhelm, and self-doubt that dominates so many people's lives. I love working closely with other people and showing them facets of themselves or different perspectives that open up their lives in magical ways and allow joy to flow freely. I have seen the immense changes that happen in people's lives when they have someone who not only holds them accountable but someone who believes in them and holds space for their own self-exploration. I love watching that transformation that blossoms when people understand their own capabilities and create lives they can thrive in. It's beautiful.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having had my own business for over ten years and having helped so many people from all over the world who come from all different walks of life. My accomplishment is the vibrancy and beauty in my life that I get to co-create through my work.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is that you are in charge of all areas of your business. You need to know about your profession itself, but also about marketing and branding, professional collaborations, finance and accounting. Wearing so many hats can be tiring.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create something you will love to run.
  2. Get really clear about your purpose.
  3. Ask for help.
