Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Caroline Gayle, Founder of Your Kitchen Your Classroom, located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I've created a 12 Module Program covering curriculum content in GCSE Food Prep & Nutrition for Schools and Parents that Homeschool. I tutor Food and Applied Nutrition using my unique Program that the content can be completed in 1 year or less and I only use vegan recipes.

Tell us about yourself

I've been teaching Food and Nutrition in school for over 15 years and was an examiner for 4 years and quickly became frustrated with the school's system and timetable and saw how it affects how children learn. I created a condensed Program with curriculum content that accelerates teaching, learning, and results and can be completed in 12 months or less.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Making the decision to leave teaching to do my job.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Working alone and trying to find trustworthy and skilled individuals in areas that I am inexperienced in.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it.
  2. Be consistent.
  3. Get support/help.
