Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Michael Quach, Co-Founder of Career Principles, located in London, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We help university students and young professionals learn the skills they need to take their careers to the next level.

Tell us about yourself

As a recent graduate from Cornell University and former financial analyst at Tesla, I've experienced firsthand the difficulties of applying university education to professional internships and full-time roles. With this experience, my co-founders and I have set out to teach our students the practical, real-work skills applicable to competitive business and finance roles.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Perhaps not the biggest, but one of the most memorable was when our company passed our first milestone of 500 student enrollments.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Wearing multiple hats to fill any and every need for the business. Every day we wake up to new and unexplored challenges!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You have to start. There will always be risks and imperfections but growing and solving difficult problems is part of the process.
  2. Be resourceful. There are a number of different online tools and learning materials that you can use to teach yourself the skills you need to run different areas of your business.
  3. Make progress by taking one step forward each day. The road to building a successful business can be quite intimidating, but you'll be surprised by the progress you can make over time by making small improvements each and every day.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I would have to make sure to mention my co-founder Kenji Farre. Without Kenji, none of this would be possible. He is an incredible friend, a great business partner, and an even better YouTuber!
