What's your business, and who are your customers?
Care Package Collection is a new and exciting care package delivery service with local delivery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Canada-wide shipping.
We are similar to a gift store - but not quite! At the core of Care Package Collection, we make it easy for people to shop online and send "care" packages to their friends and families, whether near or far. We provide a wide range of amazing care packages based on the occasion, from practical options to much-needed self-care. We explore local, and Canadian-made products and are inspired to support other small Canadian businesses. As well as other great countries.
Our customers come from all walks of life and all ages. We've received orders from all throughout Canada and even the United States. It is intended for anyone who wants to send a care package for a variety of occasions and life events. It's all about the gift of caring, building that connection, and being there for others.
Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and had an interest in business at a young age.
Fast forward to the pandemic, the business came together as a means to keep people connected and open up their support system during a time when we were restricted from visiting our family and friends. The pandemic has drastically changed people's shopping habits. In today's environment, I felt Care Package Collection would serve as a great alternative to in-store shopping.
Making people happy inspires me. I accomplished this by providing a quick service, quality products paired with an exceptional unboxing experience, and a simple approach.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Launching the business in early 2022 in a challenging period was my biggest accomplishment as a business owner.
It has also been great to witness the amazing reviews of Care Package Collection, the brand's progress, and its ability to connect individuals across Canada and beyond organically.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is seeing it through and sticking with it through the challenges.
I read Napoleon Hill's book Think And Grow Rich, which gave me a great example of miners who stopped drilling and quit, not understanding they were only three feet from the gold. Never give up.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get started right away, and don't put it off. The most important thing is to act. Learn as you go.
- Establish consistent marketing. Explore automation tools and Search Engine Optimization.
- Ask for help! You can learn so much from the experiences of others.
