What's your business, and who are your customers?
Carbliss is a cocktail in a can that offers full cocktail flavor with the nutrition panel that people came to love in seltzers. All flavors are 5% ABV, 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 100 calories, and gluten-free. Our customers are anyone who enjoys an alcoholic beverage.
Tell us about yourself
We got started because we liked the nutrition panel of traditional sugar brew/malt-based seltzers. We thought the carbonation was way too high, and the flavor was way too little. We flipped the script and made a bar-crafted cocktail with 0 carbs and sugar. I'm motivated to get more people to know about Carbliss and watch our team grow and expand their knowledge and improve their skill sets, as well as Carbliss's brand presence, day in and day out.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As business owners, we don't count employees; we count how many mouths we have to feed. Since we started, we have had crazy growth years, all triple-digit growth, with 2022 close to quadruple-digit. As a fast-growing startup, many are challenged to keep people; we have not had anyone start at the company and quit. That's the statistic we are most proud of.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Scaling a fast-growing company financially without giving away equity.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start, fall on your face, get back up, brush yourself off, and keep moving.
- Sales heals all; hire a great sales team and top-tier sales leader to build out the process for the team to be successful.
- Be transparent and truly care about your team. You have to walk the walk, not just talk the talk; people see right through you when you don't.
