Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Camille Miller, Founder of Natural Life Business Partnership, located in Flemington, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I created a global professional organization for soul-aligned business owners and entrepreneurs who want to build robust businesses that impact the world. We are in our seventh year of business and went to an online model in 2018. We have grown into a business and mindset incubator where creative souls can find the support and mentorship they need at every level of their business. It is way more than just networking. We are building better humans to help repair the world.

Tell us about yourself

My background is in not-for-profit strategic management. My last job was as CEO of an organic farming association that put me in Washington, DC, working on the organic label and our food system. While in that position, I met amazing professionals that integrated their professional life with their holistic lifestyles. After that job was defunded, I couldn't find the same professional community that recognized and celebrated one's authenticity, so I created it. My gift is building businesses, but I hate running them, so I created a position that would allow me to help others bring their gifts to the world. I'm motivated every day by just meeting the incredible souls that are in service to others and want to align their business with who they are.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating the Soul Professional Movement! Being able to hold a vision for a better way to build wealth and awaken one's financial and spiritual potential. I believe there is an evolution happening in business, and someone has to create the space for the future of entrepreneurship and creative souls. I have the gift of creating a community, so bringing this group together is definitely my greatest accomplishment to date, but I have so much more to accomplish. This is just the first step.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Where do I start? Entrepreneurship is not a linear path. You have extreme highs and extreme lows, sometimes all on the same day! Being able to navigate that and the energy it takes to keep going every day is the hardest part. You must be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hold the vision for others to see it too.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a community of other entrepreneurs to support you. It's a very lonely place to be. You need to surround yourself with others who understand your vision and where you want to be someday.
  2. Give yourself permission to take time off regularly. Me, I don't open my computer on Sundays for any reason ever. Self-care and sleep are very important to your overall well-being too.
  3. Inner work creates outer success! That's my motto. You must constantly work on your inner game if you are going to be successful.
