What's your business, and who are your customers?
Hi! First things first, yes, my “real” name is Cameo Bobo. Now that I have your attention lol, here’s a little about myself! I’ve been featured on H&M’s New York City billboard, authored a bestselling book, and am a music artist, event producer, talk show host, goal coach, speaker, and serial entrepreneur. I enjoy helping my customers achieve their goals and live their best lives through my products and services.
Tell us about yourself
My father is an entrepreneur, and I grew up watching him grow his mechanic business. I always loved the fact that he was always able to make my performances and events. I also enjoyed knowing that he would be home when I arrived home from school. With those memories in mind, it formed within me a desire to become an entrepreneur.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is that I did not quit. I’ve dealt with discouragement, frustrations, and the messiness of life. Now, because I did not quit, I’m now seeing fruits from my labor. I recently hit 100,000 combined music streams and am very happy about that accomplishment. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The process. Nothing happens overnight. Your great ideas will take time to generate revenue. It will take time to build your brand awareness and customer base. I believe “The Wait” is the most difficult part of being a business owner.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be clear about what type of business you would like to start.
- Get clear about why you’d like to start that business.
- Be consistent and determined, do the hard work, and always look for ways to learn more.
