Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Callie Krajcir, Founder of Callie K Nutrition, located in Allentown, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the owner of Callie K Nutrition. I'm a Registered Dietitian specializing in interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder condition that affects 4-8 million women and 1-3 million men in the US alone. I am the founder of Road To Remission, a program helping people with IC to minimize their symptoms in 3 months' time through a guided elimination diet, education, and support.

Tell us about yourself

I've lived with interstitial cystitis my entire life and was diagnosed at age 18. I struggled to find relief with the medications and procedures my doctors were offering me. A lot of these treatments created medical PTSD and horrible side effects. It wasn't until I addressed my diet and lifestyle that I started to get relief. When I was in college studying to be a Registered Dietitian, I knew I wanted to help others suffering from interstitial cystitis. I investigated if there were any IC Dietitians out there, and there was only one in the whole world, so I realized I needed to fill this gap. I worked in a hospital for four years, but when the pandemic hit, I was furloughed, and this is when Callie K Nutrition was created. I've been working in the IC community for almost two years now, and each day I'm motivated to educate the people suffering from this condition and ultimately help them get relief from their symptoms.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I created a podcast called IC You, and the first season was a huge success. People in the IC community were looking for a podcast that talks about what they are suffering from and helps them feel less alone.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Creating offers that will provide guaranteed income each month. This was something I struggled with in the first year and a half of business. I now have offers that provide passive income for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start. It feels uncomfortable, and you won't feel ready in the beginning, but you have to just dive in.
  2. Know that you will never know everything. Constantly educate yourself to stay on top of things.
  3. Stay in your lane. The comparison game is a dangerous one, so don't play it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I recently hit 10k followers on Tiktok! This is a huge accomplishment for me after being on Tiktok for months. My handle is @callieknutrition
