What's your business, and who are your customers?

Building Giants gives direction, strategy, and concrete tools to businesses with people system problems. We solve poor hiring practices, lack of training systems such as onboarding, and lackluster performance that hold people back at all levels in the organization. We analyze the business issues and determine the core problems that can be improved in step-by-step planning and inspired action.

Tell us about yourself

A complex problem solver, I loved studying industrial/organizational psychology because of the incredible breadth of problems it could solve! No business problem could escape an I/O psychologist's microscope, and the incredible insights that came to light were thrilling to see and solve. For me, it was the improvement, the progress, the exciting new territory that organizations would arrive at when using such impactful tools.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was simply sticking with it, getting past all the obstacles that tried to shake my confidence, which ended when I began working with such giants in the manufacturing industry as John Deere and Coca-Cola to improve their training systems.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The feast or famine routine, which brings uncertainty and occasionally worry about the next job. The best way to combat this is to constantly meet new people and nurture your network, coupled with a very positive and helpful attitude.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Set exciting goals for yourself and your future, including how and where you want to live and in what style. Read inspirational success stories to keep you excited and motivated, and take really good care of yourself mentally and physically.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

It is a great idea to closely examine your true thoughts and attitudes about money, especially the beliefs that are far under the surface. Negative beliefs about money will hold you back, and positive beliefs will bring you forward. There is no better time to burn old thought patterns about money than when you are starting your own business. Embrace thoughts like: "I make money easily and frequently" over thoughts like "Money is hard to make" in order to invite in success and abundance. For example, I set an exciting goal to earn enough for my dream car in my second year of working for myself. I believed I could do it; nine months later, it was in my garage. Everyone has the potential to succeed.
