What's your business, and who are your customers?
Coaching tennis in person, creating exciting camps and events, speaking at conferences, and online education. My customers are most often adults aged 35-65 who are passionate about improving their tennis game while gaining confidence and self-belief.
Tell us about yourself
The moment when you connect with your student(s) while they are experiencing improvement. That is what my daily motivation and challenges are, and it keeps me striving to be better and finetune my ability to coach and deliver a complex concept in a way that the person(s) in front of me can process and execute. Creating unique, different experiences for adult tennis players is what excites me to work more on my camps, events, and conferences. The delivery of every event is a unique process and requires my attention and imagination, which I enjoy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a culture around tennis. Being a leader in the tennis industry through the combination of my online presence and in-person coaching and events.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Multitasking and wearing multiple hats every day, hour to hour. And the fact that "work" never sleeps... Customers are always there wanting attention, so balancing my personal time with work time can be challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do it. Get out and start. Doesn't matter if you don't know where or how. Action is key; make mistakes, and put your time and energy into what you love doing. There is no time better than the present to start your business.
