Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brooke Emory, founder of Brooke Emory, LLC, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an International Fitness Consultant and Motivational Speaker. As we speak, I am in the process of launching the BeYou Movement. This is a compilation of all my experiences, including dance, design, movement, and wellness. We are an inclusive, global community in pursuit of wellness. We will be offering memberships that include podcasts with the best wellness professionals around the globe, product discount codes, apparel, live experiences, and more.

Our goal is to give access to movement and wellness practices no matter the age, location, lifestyle, or soul. We believe that sharing the benefits of holistic methods should have no limitations. With unlimited resources, support, and motivation, we can all become our best.

Along with BeYou, I am a consultant for Motosumo, a live stream and on-demand cycling app available to any bike, anywhere. I have instructors located all over the world and oversee everything seen on camera. To give back to the community, I launched my own bakery called Brooke's Bakery, where we donate to Mental Health Awareness Organizations with every order made. We offer vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and traditional cookies, truffles, dipped strawberries, and custom orders.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been an entrepreneur and have used my creativity to launch projects using my passions which include movement, health/wellness, dance, and fashion. In order to get to where I am now, I have had to overcome a lot of challenges and struggles within my journey as a passionate business leader. The biggest challenge, and the one I am the proudest of, is accepting and getting help for my mental health disorders. It takes a lot of courage to admit that you need help, but I have learned over time that your mental health always comes first. If you are not happy and healthy internally, there is no way you can give to others. My career is driven by mental health, it saved my life, and my goal is to inspire others to make their mental health the priority. Helping others for a living by doing what I do best, movement, and motivation is the sole driver for my business. Watching my community continue to become the best version of themselves lights the fire within me to continue sharing my love around the globe.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is listening to my heart and putting my happiness first. This is the most difficult risk of them all. Many of us find ourselves in fear of leaving a comfortable or secure corporate position, but at the end of the day, happiness is all that matters. Turning my passion into my career is a greater accomplishment than any award, write-up, or goal achievement in my perspective.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I find that one of the hardest challenges in being a business owner is finding the balance between work and rest, although my biggest challenge can change at any moment in time. Being a business owner can put a lot of pressure on financial burdens, deadlines, team management, and growth. Most of the time, it is also a passion that can often blend one's social life with work life. I learned the hard way by running myself to the ground in order to realize the importance of rest. But I believe that hitting rock bottom can only lead to success.
