Elevated Approach to Mental Health Care - Brook Choulet

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in mental wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brook Choulet, CEO of Choulet Wellness: Scottsdale Concierge Psychiatry & Therapy, located in Scottsdale, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Choulet Wellness offers an elevated level of concierge psychiatric care and therapy services. Our physicians, psychologists, and therapists strive to provide the highest quality care through our concierge care model. All of our patients enjoy the benefit of longer appointment times, thorough coordination of care with other specialists, and no barriers to contacting their physician or mental health clinician.

Tell us about yourself

I am a third-generation child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. During my residency and fellowship training, I started to develop a desire to build a practice environment in which I was not restricted by insurance-based criteria and requirements. A practice in which I could determine how much time a patient needed to be seen and provide high-quality care during those encounters. I am motivated each day by the positive impact that our clinic is having on our local community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was being able to create a large, warm, and nurturing offer environment staffed with who I think are some of the best psychiatrists and mental health clinicians in the area. I truly am very proud of the team that we've built.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is that the responsibility to get things done and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner ultimately falls on the owner. It can be challenging to find a good work-life balance.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't be afraid of failure.
  2. Work hard and when challenges occur, work.
