What's your business, and who are your customers?

At Broma, we create organic dark chocolate almond and lentil nut butters. Our nut butters provide a source of complete protein and are gluten-free, vegan, and palm oil free.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Taylor Smith, and I'm a certified health coach and certified personal trainer through NASM; and have my master's in Food Studies from NYU.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting into the distributor KeHE has been our biggest win to date. Hopefully, more to come!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Taking full responsibility for everything that occurs, good and bad, and also maintaining a quality team and a steady stream of revenue.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Talk to as many founders in the space you're looking at as possible. Try your best to find a great market fit and raise money prior to your launch; it will just make everything simpler from the outset.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you have a business idea, just start working on it, do your research and get going. There is never a perfect time, so now is the time.
