What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a hospitality and lifestyle media agency. We specialize in public relations, influencer marketing, and digital content for hospitality, real estate, and lifestyle industries!
Tell us about yourself
I never intended to open a business, I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. I loved being a publicist and working with hospitality brands. I was freelancing in 2014 in New York City, and after signing more clients that I could service myself, I started to grow from there! I am motivated by seeing how impactful marketing can be when done well. Our clients really rely on us and look to us as the experts to keep their business thriving.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
This is a tough one to answer; I think for me, it's watching the women who have worked for me before move on and have thriving careers. I had so many mentors play a part in mine, and I hope to do the same for others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the biggest challenges is having to separate personal feelings from what is best for our clients or for the business. We are a small company, the team feels like family, but sometimes I have to make decisions that don't always align with my heart.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Work as long as you can for someone you think is killing it in their field.
- Don't get an ego or burn any bridges.
- Shake as many hands as you can.
