What's your business, and who are your customers?
Yoga lifestyle brand introducing yoga to the African American community and developing an interconnected, supportive, culturally sensitive, and inclusive black and brown-owned yoga community. We serve anyone interested in learning more about yoga and improving their health and physical capabilities.
Tell us about yourself
Yoga Life was founded on March 27, 2021, over tacos, margaritas, and conversation shared among friends at a taco shop in the Art District of Los Angeles, California. Brittney, who spent over four years in supervisory/operative level management for the retail clothing and accessory industry before becoming an entertainment and employment law attorney, said the creation of a yoga lifestyle brand is in line with her broader goal of introducing yoga to the African American community. A former competitive gymnast and track and cheerleading star, Brittney has extensive athletic cross-training and experience teaching yoga and bringing that practice into her daily life. My love for yoga motivates me to do what I do each day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting started and staying consistent.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There is nobody else to blame; you're it!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Just do it! Have faith in yourself and look at "failures" as opportunities.
