What's your business, and who are your customers?
Brittany & Co is an educational and consulting company that focuses on helping business owners build a business without burnout. We focus on implementing Time Management, Task Management & Client Management in a SIMPLE way that frees up time instead of adding more to your plate.
Our clients are service-based entrepreneurs who are looking to make a huge impact in the world with their gifts, but they didn't start a business to run a business. They started a business because they were good at something. We are here to bridge that gap and allow them to do more of what they love and are good at by having systems in place to handle the rest.
Tell us about yourself
I am from the small town of London, Ohio, right outside Columbus, Ohio. I am a wife, a mom of twins Kenna & Layla, and a dog mom to Riley and Lucy (Mini Goldendoodles). I love traveling, visiting new places, camping (well, glamping in an RV), and trying all kinds of new foods. I am a board game fanatic (we own 90 of them), and I am a minimalist who is all about experiences (And not material stuff!)
Growing up, I lived in a low-income family and never knew what kind of opportunities the world held for me. I started off working in food service and hospitality while going to college. Then I wanted to be a Wedding & Event Planner. I found an internship doing that and realized that I hated the wedding side of things but loved planning and organizing.
I worked for a corporate restaurant doing event planning and catering and was there for 4 years. In year 3, I started a side hustle because some corporate shifting was going on. Fast forward 9 months later, and I was actually let go for not fitting into the corporate box.
I was an accidental entrepreneur with a company called Clutter Control. I had planned on going into homes and helping moms organize the chaos and clutter that comes with being a mom. About 6 months in, I realized I didn't know what I was doing running a business, so I went to look for a business coach. While exploring that, she shared that I could help business owners organize and do it online, which would give me the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Brittany & Co then began. I created a Podcast, a group coaching program called Hustle to Flow, 1:1 Consulting packages, and more! My daily motivation is my girls and wanting to leave a legacy. I want to show my kids that your circumstances don't matter; you can do and be whatever you want to be.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The first time I hit 6 figures in revenue. I think that once I was able to do that, I knew that it was all about rinsing and repeating to do it again and make even bigger strides.
It is definitely not all about the money for me, but knowing that I was able to do that growing up in a low-income family definitely gave me the motivation to figure out how to do it again and again and just keep growing.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a Business Owner, haha. No, I would say having the responsibility of creating the plan and systems and also having to execute the plan and systems. In corporate jobs, you show up, follow their plan, and clock out. In business ownership, you show up, create the plan, change the plan, follow the plan, change the plan again, and still have to wear 17hats doing all the other things (or at least until you can bring on a team).
The fear of doing the wrong thing and the business crashing down. I think as entrepreneurs, we are super resourceful, but there are times when it is tough to decide what the RIGHT next move is when there are so many options. We want to be able to help as many people as possible, but again, we have to figure that all out on our own.
So I would say the hardest thing about being a business owner is that it can feel lonely even if others surround you because all decisions come back on you.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Take a step back and look at the big picture first. I know that it can be tough when you are in "the weeds" of starting, running, or growing a business, but if you can take the time to step back and look at the business from a 30,000-foot view, it will allow you to make better decisions. Look at your Mission, your Vision, and your Why, and make sure that ALL your daily actions and decisions align with that.
- Simplify, Simplify, Simplify. How can you cut things out (Software, Strategies, Tools, things on your calendar, etc.)? How can we make things easier and less complex? The more complex your tools are, the harder they will be to use. The more complex your strategies are, the harder they are to execute. The more things on the calendar, the more stressed you feel. How can we create a minimalist business mindset and do more with less?
- Stop Taking In Information & Start Implementing. There is only so much information you can take in. You will get conflicting information.

You CAN build a successful business without working 17 hours a day. You can reach your goals without being burnt out and have your dream life without missing out on vacations, kids activities, and self-care
