Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brittany Borseth Lujan, Nutrition/Weight Loss Coach, based in Littleton, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help driven women lose 10-20lbs in 12 weeks without starvation diets.

Tell us about yourself

My story begins in Northern Minnesota in one of the coldest places on Earth - where I grew up! I went to Minnesota State University to be a Veterinarian. When I realized that I had a really hard time seeing animals in pain, I started to think about what do I want to do as a career. I came across nutrition and fell in love. I found a program that worked for me and saw a massive change. I felt better, lost weight had more energy, and my gut health drastically improved. I wanted to help others feel this same way. I became obsessed with learning more about nutrition, fitness, mindset, and what worked! I packed up my vehicle once I graduated college with a dream and vision to open a business where I could help other women lose weight and not jump from diet to diet but have life-long results. I love traveling, hiking, the lake, and just being outdoors, so I landed in Colorado with not knowing a single person. I opened my business in Littleton, CO, and started to build my client base. That was 10+ years ago now, and I have helped 1,000's get in the best shape of their lives. My heart is so full every day, knowing I can help others feel so much better and have a simple plan that works! I was nervous at first to leave what I knew and trust in myself, but it ended up being the best decision I have made! I am so confident that I can help women achieve their goals and am 100% committed to my clients.

The results motivate me every day! To have check-in weigh in's with clients and see the progress, they get excited and feel that they have finally found something that works for them is SO fun and exciting!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have owned my storefront for ten years and just opened four new locations, and that is amazing. But my work on myself along the way has been the biggest accomplishment. Now I have branched out to helping my ideal client and working with them remotely! I am always looking for new challenges and new ways to grow.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It's ALOT more work than your 8-5 job. We don't clock out at 5 pm. We work 24/7, but that also makes it so much more rewarding! I can't imagine doing anything else now!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Work on yourself 1st a priority. Whatever you specialize in, figure out what skills you need and what skills you need to master. Work on those every single day and become the best version of yourself. It starts with you.
  2. Work really hard. Put your heart and soul into your business because if you love it and you're passionate about it, then it will always pay off. Do the uncomfortable things that you don't want to do. The things scare you because you will always grow from them.
  3. Seek mentors through books, podcasts, programs that you pay to take, free seminars, and anything that you can do to learn. But I am 100% sure if I didn't take a leadership course, a social media course, personal development courses, financial courses, etc., then I would never be as successful as I am today. Always be learning.
