Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natasha Baker, Owner of Bright Soul Energy Healing, located in Houston, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a life coach, intuitive tarot reader, and a Reiki (energy) healer. I work with clients of various age groups and backgrounds to process and heal from past trauma and unhealthy emotions.

My goal is to help my clients create a life of contentment and become their best selves however they feel comfortable. I have also completed my Chemical Dependency Counseling basics in the state of Texas and am pursuing my Master's in Psychology so that I can better bridge the gap between spirituality and psychology with my clients.

Tell us about yourself

I find that most people who enter this line of work started because they either wanted to heal themselves. Or they grew up around someone they wanted to heal.

For me, it was both. I have always been the 'counselor' friend that helped everyone else with their problems, and eventually, I sought out a therapist to help me resolve my own traumas. Being able to change my life so dramatically through therapy and inner work made me want to pursue counseling as a career, so I enrolled in an addictions counseling program.

After graduating from the program with multiple semesters on the Dean's list, I started Bright Soul Healing and decided to pursue coaching and energy work full time. I'm so grateful for the countless clients over the last few years that have allowed me to guide them in creating massive shifts in their own lives, and it provides me daily inspiration to continue to evolve and grow as a healer.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The reputation I've built for myself over the years. Most of my clients choose to work with me because they know that I'm going, to be honest, and authentic in my delivery and that I will do my absolute best to help provide them peace and clarity. I was also featured in Yahoo! Finance as one of the top 10 alignment coaches of 2021.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being the sole person to make all the decisions for your company and also having to juggle your personal life along with it. Eventually, when you've grown enough, you can delegate certain tasks, but in the beginning, it's a lot to figure out on your own, and there are days when you have to forget about your personal life so that your business can thrive.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Just dive right in and figure it out as you go, don't make any decisions that don't align with your brand, and allow your business to expand -- you don't have to be limited to anything just because that's how you started or what you're known for.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
