What's your business, and who are your customers?
Brianna Régine Visionary Consulting (BRVC) is a strategic Communications and marketing agency focused on brand growth strategy for entrepreneurs and decision-makers. Our customers are B2B and B2C brands that serve underrepresented communities. They exist in the entertainment, lifestyle, nonprofit, startup, or municipal industries.
Tell us about yourself
I started BRVC because I had a passion for helping people, particularly those who knew their ideas were possible but felt like the underdog or underrepresented, while figuring out how to make them real. I enjoy problem-solving, and I'm optimistic when it comes to challenges, so growing brands is something that's rewarding. Seeing my clients achieve milestones that they deserve and that positively impact their target audience is a feeling I don't think will ever grow old.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Turning my passion for helping others into a tangible and successful business that gives opportunities to my clients in the form of visibility, credibility, scalability, and impact. Equally important, I'm proud that my business has created a safe and healthy space for talent of all levels and all backgrounds to cultivate their skills. Client or teammate, I want everyone to thrive - and BRVC has played a supportive role in making that happen.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Hmm, this will ALWAYS be a good question because as the business grows, I grow - and I'm always learning new, lifelong skills. Right now, one of the hardest challenges is making the most effective decisions to increase our capital. Up until the Summer of 2021, BRVC was solely bootstrapped. And even in 2021, the loan we took out wasn't a lot of money at all. Now in 2023, to get to our next level of scaling, I'm navigating funding options for larger amounts, and it's just different territory, and it's honestly tested my abundance mindset. I'm speaking honestly about this because "being in debt" can be a scary thought, especially for minority business owners who, historically, have experienced a lack of access to resources. But I think it's important to emphasize that most successful multi-6-7-8 figure businesses go into debt in order to make more revenue in the long run.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know your Why. It'll be what grounds you in every decision - particularly the ones that are most difficult to make.
- Know that you can't please or serve everyone. You and your business will be better off if you provide the most value, where it makes the most sense. And as your business grows, who you serve and how you serve will evolve, and that's okay.
- Do your due diligence and ask for help. I believe that every business owner, within their first year, should touch every aspect of their business. After that, you'll know the kind of help you'll need and where you need it. As your business grows, you'll become aware of your zone of genius.
