Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dina Alsalih, Founder of Brainstein Academy, located in Alpharetta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My company, "Brainstein Academy," aims to train front-line healthcare workers/professionals in simplifying medical information using various learning modalities.

Tell us about yourself

I've been a healthcare education specialist with a Ph.D. in Public Health/Epidemiology and B.S. in Pharmacy. Over the years, I've noticed the significant gap in healthcare education despite the unlimited resources available online. They mostly have been complicating information instead of simplifying them, adding more confusion to older patients and their caregivers and delaying their recovery process.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Aside from the valuable experience I gained from meeting new people, I have recently been awarded the Emerging Scholar Award at Sorbonne University.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a startup business, standing out from competitors can always be challenging. However, finding your strengths/uniqueness and building on them is what will distinguish you from the crowd (plus patience... of course).

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. The world around us is evolving, and so are we. Just because it worked for us before doesn't mean it's going to work now. Think creatively to find a solution or an improved method.
  2. Understand the psychology of the patient deeply and what is going to improve their lives.
  3. Keep up with health issues, trends, and new treatments.
