Tell us about yourself
I created Brainscape as the product I wanted for myself to study foreign languages. Once I realized the spaced repetition system could be used to learn just about anything faster, I went back to grad school, got a Master's in Education Technology, and made it my life's mission to optimize learning.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Building a world-class team of people similarly obsessed with advancing human development
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Not moving as fast as your vision continues to grow!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Tell everyone about your plans. Don't worry that someone will "steal your idea." The feedback and introductions you'll get are much more valuable.
- Don't compromise on Team. No hire is better than a mediocre hire. Keep looking.
- Go as far as you can before raising money from outside investors. Funding does not solve anything; it only accelerates momentum.
