What's your business, and who are your customers?

Basically, I help businesses get found on Google by optimizing their website and content. My clients are anyone who wants to rank higher in search results and attract more customers to their website. It's a pretty cool gig if I do say so myself!

Tell us about yourself

I've always had a passion for digital marketing and the impact it can have on businesses, so when I first learned about search engine optimization (SEO), I was hooked. I started experimenting with optimizing my own website and content, and after seeing the results firsthand, I knew I wanted to help others do the same.

What motivates me each day is the knowledge that I'm making a real difference in my clients' businesses. Seeing their organic traffic grow, their leads increase, and their revenue go up is incredibly rewarding, and it drives me to keep learning and improving my craft. Plus, the ever-evolving nature of SEO means there's always something new to learn and experiment with, which keeps things exciting and fresh.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One particular accomplishment that comes to mind is helping a small local business increase their organic traffic by 2x over the past few years, an 8x in total so far from where we started. This resulted in a significant increase in their leads and revenue, which was a game-changer for their business. It's always incredibly rewarding to see the direct impact my work has on the success of my clients, and that's what I consider to be my biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner, you're responsible for everything from sales and marketing to finances and operations. It can be overwhelming at times, especially if you're a solopreneur or have a small team.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, there's also the pressure to constantly improve and grow your business. This can mean taking risks, making difficult decisions, and dealing with failures along the way. It takes a lot of resilience and determination to push through the challenges and stay focused on your goals.

Another challenging aspect of being a business owner is finding the right work-life balance. It can be easy to get caught up in your work and let it take over your personal life, but it's important to set boundaries and prioritize self-care to avoid burnout.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus on your customers: It's easy to get caught up in your own vision for your business, but at the end of the day, it's your customers who will determine your success. Make sure you're providing value to your customers and addressing their needs and pain points. This will help you build a loyal customer base and grow your business.
  2. Be adaptable: The business world is constantly changing, so it's important to be flexible and adaptable. Keep an eye on industry trends and be willing to pivot your strategy if needed. This can help you stay ahead of the competition and continue to grow your business.
  3. Invest in yourself: As a business owner, your success is directly tied to your own personal and professional growth. Take the time to invest in yourself through education, training, and networking. This will help you stay sharp and bring new ideas and strategies to your business. Remember, you're the driving force behind your business, so it's important to take care of yourself and continue to learn and grow.
